Reverts, any age

Al-Fatiha first. Then the rest of your salah.

We start with what you need for your next prayer, not with a curriculum. Al-Fatiha, then the short surahs, with the meaning of every word in plain English so you know what you are saying.

What this course actually gets youNo question is too basic here, and nobody will be surprised by what you do not know yet.

Pray with confidence

Al-Fatiha and the salah surahs recited correctly from memory, in the right order, for every rakʿah.

Know what you are saying

Word-by-word meaning alongside the Arabic, so the prayer is understood rather than performed.

Read, not just repeat

The Arabic letters themselves, so you can eventually open the Mushaf instead of relying on transliteration.

What the road looks like

From your first class to fluent.

Real milestones from students on this course, not a marketing timeline. Your teacher gives you a specific estimate after the free level check.

  1. Class 1 Whatever you need most If your salah is this evening, we start with the words you need tonight. The curriculum waits.
  2. Week 3 Al-Fatiha, correctly Memorised and understood, with the sounds that English does not have taught explicitly.
  3. Month 2 The short surahs Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, An-Nas and others, enough to pray every rakʿah with variety.
  4. Month 4 The Arabic letters Starting on reading itself, so the transliteration card can eventually be put away.
  5. Month 8+ Reading the Mushaf Opening the Quran and reading it for yourself, which is where most reverts say it stopped feeling borrowed.
Start at week one, free

This course is for you if…

  • You recently took your shahada, or returned to practice after years away
  • You pray from a transliteration card and want to stop
  • You want the meaning, not just the sounds
  • You want a teacher who will not assume you grew up with any of this
Maybe not this one

If you already pray comfortably and want to work on reading the Mushaf, Quran for adults covers the same ground with less time spent on the salah basics.

Questions about new muslims.

I took my shahada last month and know almost nothing. Where do I start?

With Al-Fatiha, because you need it for every rakʿah of every prayer. Your first class is spent on what you need for tonight's salah, and only after that does the teacher start building toward reading the Arabic letters. Nothing is assumed.

Will the teacher judge me for how little I know?

Our teachers who work with reverts have taught dozens of people starting from nothing, and several of our teachers learned to read as adults themselves. One of them learned Al-Fatiha at 22 from a card, which is exactly why he teaches this course.

Can I learn the meanings as well as the recitation?

Yes, and we recommend it. Every surah you memorise is taught with its word-by-word meaning in plain English, because reciting something you do not understand is much harder to retain and far less rewarding.

Often taken with this.
