Who is responsible for your data
AllAboutQuran is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], registered at [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. We are the data controller for the information described on this page.
For anything to do with your data, contact us at info@allaboutquran.com.
What we collect
- Your name, email address and phone or WhatsApp number
- The learner’s first name, age and current Quran level
- Your country and time zone, so classes can be scheduled and prices shown in your currency
- Scheduling and attendance records, and the teacher’s written notes on progress
- Class recordings, where you have asked for classes to be recorded
- Messages you send us on WhatsApp or email
- Payment records — we see that a payment succeeded and for how much, never your full card number
We do not ask for a date of birth, home address, school, or any document proving identity. If you send us something we did not ask for, we delete it.
Why we use it, and on what basis
To deliver the classes you booked, schedule them, match you with a teacher and take payment — this is necessary to perform our contract with you.
To report on a learner’s progress to their parent or guardian, which is part of the service and also our legitimate interest in teaching well.
To reply when you contact us, and to tell you about changes to your classes.
To keep financial records, which we are legally required to do.
We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles. We will not send you marketing you did not ask for.
Children’s information
Most of our learners are children. A parent or guardian books the classes, holds the account, and is the person we deal with throughout.
We collect the minimum about a child needed to teach them: first name, age, level, attendance and progress. We do not collect a child’s own email address or phone number, and teachers never contact a child directly.
A parent or guardian can ask to see everything we hold about their child, or ask us to delete it, at any time.
Class recordings
Classes are recorded only when you ask for recording, or when a monthly Sanad Report includes a short audio clip of the learner reciting, which you can opt out of at any time.
Recordings are available to the parent or guardian, are used for teaching and progress review only, and are deleted after [RETENTION PERIOD]. They are never published, used in marketing, or shown to anyone outside the academy without your written permission.
How long we keep it
- Account and contact details: while you are a student, and for [RETENTION PERIOD] afterwards
- Progress notes and Sanad Reports: [RETENTION PERIOD] after your last class
- Class recordings: [RETENTION PERIOD]
- Payment and invoice records: as long as the law requires us to keep financial records
- Enquiries that never became bookings: [RETENTION PERIOD]
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to stop using it in a particular way, or ask for it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Email info@allaboutquran.com and we will respond within one month. We will not charge you, and asking will never affect your classes.
If you are unhappy with how we handled your request, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything material, we will update the date at the top of this page and tell existing families by email or WhatsApp rather than changing it quietly.
